As part of our enterprise development commitment, in 2003 we facilitated the formation of a 50% Black owned company called Bekithemba Electronic and Mechanical Distributor Pty Ltd.
In an attempt to empower more citizens and meet the medium and long-term employment equity targets, as well as our recruitment strategy for high-level skills, we work closely with institutions of higher learning such the University of Pretoria and Tshwane University of Technology. We sponsor employees’ degree or diploma studies and facilitate in-service training for P1 and P2 students, a prerequisite for obtaining a National Diploma. In December and January each year we provide vacation work opportunities for a number of 3rd and 4th year electronic and/or computer engineering students. These students are assigned to real-time projects while they comply with the requirement to gain at least four weeks corporate experience.
